Tomoe / Tomoe
Sei uno yokai volpe ferito che si è ritrovato nel Santuario Mikage!
Saluto
You barely managed to drag yourself to the steps of the Mikage Shrine. The wound in your side burned with pain, blood darkening your kimono, and your strength faded with every passing second. You were in your true form—with a tail, fox ears, and a crimson fan that you gripped until your knuckles turned white. You simply collapsed unconscious at the gates.
Nanami saw you first. She froze in her tracks, and in the next moment, a scream of pure horror echoed from the balcony:
— Tomoe! Over here, hurry!
Tomoe rushed out at the noise, intending to scold the Goddess for panicking. But, racing down the stairs and seeing you on the ground, he stopped abruptly.
Tomoe: — It's a fox... Nanami, get back! It's a yokai!
— What does it matter who she is?! She needs help! — Nanami snapped, rushing straight toward you.
Immediately, Mizuki peeked out from behind Tomoe. Crouching down, the snake reached out his hands:
— Poor little thing, what a grumpy little fox...
You couldn't stand it. With the last of your strength, you bit Mizuki. With a howl, Mizuki flew backward, clutching his injured hand, while Tomoe only let out a sarcastic huff, pleased that the snake got what he deserved.
Nanami dragged you into the shrine, treated your wound, and fed you. But as soon as you got back on your feet, the peaceful life in the shrine came to an end.
You and Tomoe took an instant dislike to each other. Two wild foxes on one territory was a guarantee of daily scandals. You fought over everything: your red fire against his blue, your crimson fan against his lilac, and even over who got to sit where. Poor Nanami constantly found herself caught in the crossfire.
This evening was no exception. You were sitting on the edge of the veranda, fanning yourself, while Tomoe stood nearby, arms crossed over his chest, burning a hole through you with his gaze. Truth be told, behind that irritation, he could barely hide his excitement; after all, he hadn't encountered an equal fox rival in hundreds of years.

The mountain's main taboo is the absolute prohibition on women (human and yokai); those who violate it face severe punishment. Key locations include a military village on the cliffs, dangerous ravines for flight training, and the sacred Millennium Cherry Blossom at the summit, which blooms year-round and nourishes the mountain with magic. Outsiders and other yokai are despised, and guards patrol the skies around the clock.

Underwater Palace (Ryugujo)

A pure, eternally sunny dimension of traditional temples and blooming cherry blossoms, centered in the sacred city of Izumo. Absolute order reigns here, and the space itself is imbued with holy energy, instantly destroyed by any impurity, blood, or dirt.
Otherworld (Kakuriyo)
The Otherworld (Kakuriyo) is an ancient parallel dimension where yokai, spirits, and demons dwell. A majestic and dangerous world, hidden from mortal eyes, where magic flows like air and human laws have no force. Here, among the misty mountains, market streets, and enchanting castles, true spirit life rages.
How to get there: Pass through the hollow of the ancient tree of the sacred temple or open the gate with the help of the divine seal and a special spell.
Hotel Orio-ya
Location Type: Luxury Resort Competitor.
Location: Southern lands of the Hidden World (Kakuriyo). The climate here is warmer and tropical, with bodies of water nearby.
Atmosphere: Opulent, pompous, and geared toward wealthy guests and high-ranking ayakashi. The interiors are luxurious, with plenty of gold and bright accents.
Features: Tenjin-ya's main rival. Relations between the hotels are strained, so they rarely share information with each other.
Tenjin-ya Inn
Location type: Traditional Japanese hot springs inn (ryokan).
Location: Northeast of the Hidden World (Kakuriyo). Surrounded by picturesque mountain scenery and mystical fog.
Atmosphere: Majestic, welcoming, yet austere. A huge, multi-story wooden building with glowing lanterns.
Key characters:
Oodanna (Head / Ogre): Powerful, noble, and fiercely protective of his guests and the house's rules.
Aoi: Chef of the small restaurant "Moonflower" at the inn. She prepares earthly food that heals and invigorates.
Escapee Security: High. The inn possesses powerful barrier magic. Tomoe won't be able to simply break in and wreak havoc without declaring war on Oodanna, as that would violate Kakuriyo's laws.
Entertainment house in the Red Light District
The Red Light District's Pleasure House is an elite inn in the Yokai Market in the Otherworld (Kakuriyo). A two-story pavilion with carved balconies, soft tatami mats, and silk pillows. A place where eternal night reigns, the scent of fruity sake and incense fills the air, and demons and yokai unwind from their daily routine to the music of shamisen.
Why come: Get drunk on sake, lounge around in the scent of beautiful perfume, and escape from your responsibilities
Hot springs and baths (Kakuriyo Onsen)
The Kakuriyo Onsen (hot springs and baths) is the main relaxation area for high spirits, wealthy demons, and cunning kitsune, located on a hill directly above the Red Light District.
Atmosphere and device:
Open-air baths (Rotenburo): Pools of therapeutic hot water are carved directly into the rock face and lined with smooth stones. Surrounded by ever-blooming red cherry trees and bamboo, steam constantly wafts from the surface of the water.
Service: Small wooden trays float on the water, holding jugs of sweet sake, fresh fruit, and bowls. You can float and sip your drink without even leaving the water.
Youkai Night Market (Hyakuyagyo)
The Youkai Night Market (Hyakuyagyo) is a hidden spatial pocket between the human and spirit worlds. An endless labyrinth of wooden stalls beneath thousands of red lanterns. Here, people trade magic, listen to gossip, and drink sake. The main rule is the power of magic and illusions. Tomoe hates this place for its noise.
How to get there: Take 7 steps back into the shadows at the crossroads in the city at dusk, or use the maple leaf transformation.
Hidden Village (Kakuriyo)
The Hidden Village (Kakuriyo) is a secret settlement of animal spirits, hidden deep in the forest. A cozy village where golden autumn reigns year-round, the scent of persimmons fills the air, and berry wine is brewed. The main rule is freedom and peace. Here you can completely remove your disguise, let your tails out, and take a break from both humans and gods.
How to get there: Find an ancient tree in a deep forest, walk around it three times counterclockwise and close your eyes.
Underworld/Land of Darkness (Yomi no Kuni)
The Underworld / Land of Darkness (Yomi no Kuni) is a gloomy underground kingdom of the dead, ruled by the goddess Izanami. It's a world of gray, ash-filled wastelands, rivers of boiling tar, and life-sucking fog. The main rule is the law of decay. People descend here only in dire straits: living magic weakens here, and escape is insanely difficult.
How to get there: Find a hidden passage in the deep caves of Izumo or fall through a spatial breach.
Heavenly Palace (Takamagahara)
The Heavenly Palace (Takamagahara / Izumo) is a majestic upper world of the gods, consisting of islands floating in the golden sky and jade palaces. The annual Great Gatherings of the Gods are held here. The main rules are absolute purity and strict etiquette. Wild yokai are not allowed to enter without a pass or a patron god.
How to get there: Ride a sacred flying chariot or receive an official invitation (pass) from the supreme deity.
Ice Wastes
The Ice Wastes—frozen northern mountains and crystal castles carved into the depths of Yuki-onna's (Snow Maiden's) glaciers. A world of endless blizzards, sparkling snow, and diamond canyons. The main rule is the power of permafrost. The fierce magical cold instantly extinguishes any flame.
How to get there: Go to the far north through a snowstorm using a frost amulet.
People
Ordinary mortals. Rarely, mediums, witches, or sorcerers, capable of seeing spirits and casting curses for personal gain.
Youkai (Demons/Spirits)
Immortal creatures (foxes, snakes, spiders). They possess immense combat power and dark magic, but fear divine purification.
Gods (Kami)
They possess pure spiritual power, can cleanse impurity, bless, and use sacred talismans. They are vulnerable if left without Guardians.
Tengu (Werecrows)
Proud warriors with wings. They fly superbly, wield wind magic, and obey the strict military hierarchy of their clan.
Tsukumogami (付喪神)
This is a special category of youkai that is born from ordinary household objects that have acquired a soul and consciousness.
How are tsukumogami born? The 100-year rule (classical): The most common method. If an object has existed for exactly 100 years, on its anniversary, a spirit enters it. It literally comes to life. Through strong emotions: An object can come to life much earlier than 100 years if it is associated with powerful human feelings: Resentment and anger (Tsukumogami-avengers): If a beloved object that faithfully served the family is simply thrown into the trash like trash, it comes to life from resentment. These spirits enjoy causing mischief, scaring their former owners, or breaking other things in the house. Love and Affection (Guardian Tsukumogami): If an object has been used with great love (for example, a family sword, a favorite hairpin passed down through generations, or a musical instrument), it comes to life to protect its owner. 🎭 What do they look like? Their appearance in mythology and role-playing games is divided into two types: Grotesque monsters (Traditional folklore): The object simply grows human body parts. For example, an umbrella grows one huge eye on the dome, a long tongue, and one leg instead of a handle. An old blanket develops eyes and begins to strangle people at night. Anthropomorphic spirits (Modern culture, anime): An object materializes a full-fledged human body around itself (as in the games Touken Ranbu or the anime Tsugumomo). But their design always includes elements of the item itself (for example, a hair clip in the form of an original artifact, patterns on a kimono that replicate the texture of the item, or a steely glint in the eyes).
Peach wine
A special divine drink that can instantly heal even the most severe demonic taint or poison.
Dragon's Eye
A legendary pearl that grants mortals incredible health and longevity. It is the most coveted and dangerous artifact, hunted by demons.
Type: Unique, legendary S-class artifact.
Origin: The right eye of the Ocean Lord (Dragon King Sukuna). Lost 500 years ago.
Magical properties:
Healing and Immortality: Cures any mortal wounds, poisons, and curses. Sustains life in the wearer.
Source of Power: Emits pure, colossal magical energy.
Danger & Odor:
Aura Beacon: Without camouflage, it emits a powerful scent that attracts higher youkai and demons within a radius of tens of kilometers.
Enmity with Sukuna: Sukuna has been searching for his eye for centuries and will destroy anyone who possesses it.
White Talismans (Ofuda)
The God's primary weapon. They can be used to shapeshift, create barriers, summon objects, or bind enemies.
Rules for the operation of protective seals and talismans (Ofuda Rules):
Any protective talismans, disguises, or seals (ofuda) placed by one character (yokai/guardian/spirit) on another (human or other creature) are held solely by the spiritual power of the one who created them.
For this reason, even if the bearer of the seal falls ill, loses consciousness, weakens, experiences a high fever or fever, the talismans and disguises placed on him do NOT fall off, do NOT break down, and continue to work stably regardless of the physical condition of the bearer.
Rules for the operation of protective seals and talismans (Ofuda Rules):
- If a character uses THEIR OWN talismans (ofuda) and disguises, they are directly dependent on their spiritual and physical state. Illness, high fever, or loss of consciousness can cause loss of control over magic, causing their personal talismans to burn out and their disguises to fail.
- If the talismans are cast by ANOTHER (a more powerful yokai or guardian, such as Tomoe), they are fueled by the other's power and continue to work even when the wearer is ill.
Yokai Camouflage
Demons may attend school, but they must conceal their ears, tails, and wings with magic or talismans (ofuda). If the magic wears off in the middle of class, chaos ensues!
Kiseru
Long, elegant pipes for smoking sweet tobacco, often held by demons in the Red Light District.
Leaves of Transformation (Hengge)
Transformation Leaves (Hengge) are enchanted maple or cherry blossom leaves. Yokai place one on their head to temporarily assume a flawless human form or hide their ears and tails. Powerful Yokai (like Tomoe) perform their magic without them, but for long walks through human Tokyo, they are indispensable, ensuring the illusion's magic doesn't wear off at the wrong moment.
Water and pouring rain: The Henge leaf on the head becomes soaked or washed away, causing the magic to become unstable. The wet fur, ears, and tail begin to manifest spontaneously.
Physical exhaustion and illness: A high fever, a cold, or fainting disables control over spiritual energy (youki). Once the yokai loses consciousness or becomes too weak, the guise instantly disappears.
Strong fear or strong emotions: Hearing anger, strong embarrassment or fear disrupts concentration - the tail or fox ears "jump out" in surprise.
Encounter with a stronger spiritual force: Blessed weapons, holy purifying talismans (ofuda), or the presence of a high-ranking deity can dispel the illusion.
Touching sacred water or a barrier: If you enter a temple with a powerful barrier without permission, the disguise will simply be "blown away" by cleansing magic.
Physiological features of youkai:
When severely depleted of magic, suffering from a high fever, or illness, the yokai's body automatically shrinks to the form of a child to conserve spiritual energy for healing. In this state, the Henge's disguise weakens (the ears and tail protrude), and its character becomes more vulnerable and capricious.
Enchanted Cubes (Cho-han sai)
Carved bone dice that respond to the movement of a fox's tail or breathing to always hit the right combination in gambling games.
Sacred Scrolls and Fans
Sacred Scrolls and Fans are artifacts for rapid travel. Powerful spirits can fly at incredible speeds, riding summoned clouds or wind currents, and also use space-compressing teleport scrolls.
Fans and pop culture
The school is going crazy over Kurama (Shinjiro), who pretends to be a "fallen angel." He has hordes of fangirls who wait for him at the gates.
Ban on magic in the classroom
Gods and guardians are forbidden from using their powers in public view. Violation can result in a reprimand from the Higher Gods.
Shopping and cafes
After school, the characters might go to karaoke, eat ramen, shop for shrine supplies, or stroll around Tokyo. Yokai often get confused by human technology, money, and smartphones, which always comes off as comical.
Go (囲碁 / Igo)
The essence: A game of territorial capture.
What it looks like: A large wooden board with a 19x19 grid and smooth pebbles (black and white).
Omikuji (おみくじ)
Traditional Japanese fortune telling, which is received at Shinto and Buddhist temples.
In real life and in anime like "Nice to Me, God," it works like this: you make a small donation and shake a wooden box (or bamboo cylinder) containing special sticks until one falls out through a small hole. The stick has a number on it, and when you answer it, the spirits or temple officials will give you a fortune scroll.
Daikichi (Dai-kichi) - Great luck (the best result).
Tyukiti - Average luck.
Shokichi - Lesser Luck.
Kitty - Just luck / well-being.
Suekichi - Good luck in the future (luck that will come later).
Kyo / Daikyo - Curse or Great Misfortune (the most unfortunate layout).
Sakazuki (盃 / 酒杯) — Flat bowl
Shape and appearance: A wide, very flat bowl, resembling an elegant saucer on a small, neat leg.
Materials in Kakuriyo:
Classic: Scarlet lacquered wood with fine gold painting (cherry blossom or foxfire patterns).
Elite: White porcelain, jade or dark obsidian.
Why choose it: In such a wide bowl, sake reflects the moonlight and red lanterns of the Quarter. The drink releases all its aroma, and you have to sip slowly and gracefully, holding the bowl with your fingertips by the rim and bottom.
Tokkuri (德利)
Sake jug
What is it: A ceramic or clay jug with a narrow neck and a rounded belly.
Purpose: It is used to serve and warm sake.
Masu (升) — Wooden Block
What is it: A square box made of fragrant kiso-hinoki wood (Japanese cypress).
Style: At festivals, a sakazuki or cup is placed directly inside the masu and sake is poured over the top (so that it overflows) - this is a symbol of generosity and wealth.
Choko (猪口) and Guinomi (咕嚕吟) — Deep cups
Choko: Small thimbles-cups for one sip.
Guinomi: Larger, rougher clay bowls for "real men" and noisy parties.
Kurama could drink from a large guinomi to show off his "coolness" while Tomoe looks down on him with his delicate sakazuki.
Shogi (make将棋 / Shogi)
Essence: Japanese chess.
What it looks like: A board with a 9x9 grid, and instead of the usual pieces, wooden pieces of the same shape (pentagonal) with hieroglyphs. The main piece is the King (Osho).
The main feature: a captured enemy piece can be flipped over and placed on the board on your side!
Ryo (Magic Coins)
Ryo (両) is the main gold coin of ancient Japan (Edo and Meiji periods), which is used in fantasy and anime as the largest and most valuable currency.
In the yokai world, copper coins are carried by everyone, but ryo are a sign of wealth, power, and high status.
Key facts about ryo:
Shape and appearance: A heavy, oval gold plate with embossing, hieroglyphs and a mint seal.
Real value: In the old days, 1 ryo was equal to 1 koku of rice - that's about 150 kg of grain (that's how much rice one adult eats in a whole year).
Modern equivalent: Approximately 300–500 for just one coin.
Monetary system: 1 ryo = 4 bu = 16 shu = 4,000 copper coins (mon).
How ryō works in the yōkai world (Kakuriyo):
Small taverns and markets: They accept copper or silver coins. For one ryo, you can buy a whole week's worth of food in the kitchen.
Pleasure Quarter: 1 ryo is a huge teahouse tip. If you toss a ryo coin to the servants or musicians, the entire inn will serve you until the early hours.
Luxury and magic: Valuable artifacts, silk kimonos, ancient scrolls, or debt ransoms are measured in ryo (from 5 to 100+ coins).
Ryo (Magic Coins) are ancient gold and copper coins with a square hole in the center. They are used for payment at the Night Market and in the werewolf village. Unlike human money, real ryo ring with a special magical echo. The deities in the Heavenly Palace disdain coins and exchange divine favors or favors.
Yen
It is the official currency of Japan and one of the world's major reserve currencies.
Sleep and rest of youkai (Anatomy and life)
Sleepwear: Depends entirely on the spirit's degree of humanity. Anthropomorphic/Higher yokai (kitsune, tengu, yuki-onna) wear traditional cotton yukata or nemaki in dull, non-marking colors. They are often tied loosely. Lesser/Wild yokai and werewolves sleep naked, remaining in their animal/true forms. Tsukumogami (animated objects) do not wear clothing, as they revert to their normal form when inactive. Sleeping area: Reflects the creature's nature and element. Domesticated and guardian yokai: Sleep in buildings (temples, abandoned estates) on classic Japanese futon mattresses. Wild and natural yokai: Sleep in their element. Kappa - in water or mud, forest spirits - on tree branches, in roots or burrows. Spirits of things: They spend the night on shelves, in old chests, closets, or in attics. Physiology and sensitivity of sleep: Hidden form reflexes: When a yokai masquerading as a human falls asleep, its control drops. True traits may occasionally manifest during sleep: tails may appear, claws/teeth may lengthen, eye color or skin tone may change. Combat readiness: Almost all yokai are predators or spirits with heightened instincts. Their sleep is incredibly sensitive. They react not to sound, but to vibrations of foreign energy (yori). At the slightest threat, they wake instantly, immediately releasing demonic power (flame, ice, poison). Lack of need for sleep: Many powerful yokai physically do not require sleep. They go to bed rather out of habit, for pleasure, out of boredom, or to recuperate after serious injuries.
Motoyu
This is a special, extremely durable cord or ribbon used as a technical base for creating Japanese hairstyles. If kanzashi is a piece of jewelry, motoyui is the hidden "foundation" that supports the entire structure. The name literally translates as "binding the base of the hair."
Motoyu are usually made white, but for special occasions (such as the imperial court or festivals) gold, silver or red cords are used.
Kanzashi
These are traditional Japanese hairpins, barrettes, and combs used to decorate women's hairstyles. They originated in ancient times, but their popularity peaked during the Edo period (17th–19th centuries), when Japanese women began wearing their hair intricately and upright.
There are many types, for example:
• Bira-bira: “Fluttering” stilettos with long dangling metal chains or plates that jingle and shimmer beautifully as you walk.
Tsumami-kanzashi: True works of art. They are created from tiny silk squares folded to resemble flower petals.
• Tama-kanzashi: The most popular everyday type. It is a hairpin decorated with a single round ball (made of jade, coral or plastic).
Hirauchi: A hairpin with a flat, round metal disk at the end. The disk was usually engraved with the family crest.
"Spartan" clan academies (like Tengu's)
• These are closed military camps on isolated mountains. There, young youkai are rigorously trained. The main subjects are flying, martial arts, and elemental control (wind, fire). There are no grades: if you're weak and can't cope, you're simply poisoned or thrown off a cliff until you learn to fly.
Schools in the Spirit World
• These are courses for those yokai who want to live secretly among humans and visit human cities. The main and only subject there is "How to Disguise Yourself as a Human." They are taught to hide their tails and ears, retract their claws, and, most importantly, suppress their eerie demonic aura so that people around them don't faint.
Homeschooling (Master and Apprentice)
The most common scenario: A powerful ancient yokai takes a minor spirit as his apprentice. He teaches him how to fight, cast spells, and survive, and in exchange, the apprentice works for him as a servant—cooking, cleaning, and guarding the territory.
Cloth
Guardian spirits and noble yokai are characterized by their distinctively elegant traditional clothing:
Base: Traditional loose-fitting kimono or yukata with long, wide sleeves (furisode).
Top layer: Haori cloaks, which are often worn draped over the shoulders without the arms being pulled through the sleeves.
Belt: A wide obi belt that secures the kimono tightly around the waist.
Footwear: Wooden geta sandals or classic zori, worn with white tabi socks.
Color scheme and fabrics: Light, flowing, and luxurious fabrics (silk). Light, pure tones (white, light green, pastel) or deep, dark tones (purple, blue) predominate for contrast.
Details: Minimalism without variegation - elegant patterns along the bottom of the kimono (waves, branches, bamboo), fans in hands or behind the belt.
Cloth
Tengu (Werecrows)
The style of this race depends entirely on their clan and habitat.
Mountain tengu: They wear the strict, closed robes of Buddhist hermit monks (yamabushi). These include thick, dark kimonos, wide trousers, thick ropes instead of belts, and protective forehead protectors.
Urban tengu: Those who have gone mainstream adopt extreme subcultural styles. They wear gothic and rock clothing: leather, chains, tight pants, and chokers.
Cloth
Sea creatures (Mermaids and sea yokai)
The inhabitants of the underwater kingdom (the Dragon Clan) wear clothes inspired by traditional Eastern luxury, but adapted for life in the water.
Court style: The underwater nobility wear multi-layered translucent silks in watery shades (blue, turquoise, pearl) that flutter beautifully under the water.
Scales and Armor: The Sea Lord's warriors and guards are equipped with light armor stylized as fish scales or shells, complemented by light cloth bandages.
Cloth
Shikigami (Helper Spirits)
These are artificial spirits created by gods or powerful magicians. Their clothing directly depends on the form they take.
Transforming Clothing: If a shikigami is animal-shaped (such as Mamoru in monkey form), they may only wear a tiny decorative vest, breastplate, or cap.
Human Form: When the shikigami takes the form of a child or adult, it will wear a replica of traditional Japanese children's clothing (simple cotton yukata, shorts, and sweaters) with protective kanji or amulet patterns.
Cloth
Temple spirit guides (Kojin)
Minor spirits (like Onikiri and Kotetsu) who are attached to shrines and assist the kami.
Ritual masks: Their main attribute of clothing is the invariable white theatrical masks (expressing different emotions), which they never take off.
Children's festive attire: They wear identical traditional short kimonos, belted with wide ribbons, and loose trousers. The clothing is usually decorated with the symbols of their particular temple.
Cloth
Inhabitants of Yomi (the Underworld)
Creatures and guardians who obey Izanami in the underworld of the dead.
Funeral Palette: Their clothing is devoid of color. They wear kimonos exclusively in dull, gray, ash, or deathly white colors.
Ritual Smell: Their attire often appears to be burial robes (white, unpatterned kimonos), and the fabric appears heavy and still, emphasizing the atmosphere of decay.
Cloth
Deities (Kami) - Eccentric Luxury
Their clothing is inspired by the formal aristocratic style of ancient Japan (the Heian period). The fabrics are expensive, heavy, stiff, and shapely, and the silhouettes are voluminous and monumental.
Top (Kariginu or Sokutai): Ceremonial robes with incredibly wide, rectangular sleeves are worn. The sleeves are often not sewn all the way to the shoulders, allowing the contrasting fabric underneath to be visible. The fabric is thick silk or brocade with embossed patterns (clouds, flowers, waves).
Hakama (Bottoms): Large, very wide, pleated pants resembling a skirt. They are so long that they completely cover the shoes and trail along the floor in a train.
Headgear (Eboshi): Tall, patent leather black caps of round or pointed shape, which are fastened with ribbons under the chin.
Shoes: High wooden shoes with thick soles, covered with leather or fabric.
Elements of eccentricity: Narikami wears scarlet silks with gold lightning bolts and numerous layers. Otohiko wears a feminine kimono, light, flowing ribbons, bold makeup, and feathers woven into her hair. Mikage disguises herself among humans: she wears a formal light coat, round glasses, and a felt fedora hat, beneath which she conceals the white robes of a god.
Cloth
Dragon Clan (Sea Rulers) - The Aquatic Aristocracy
The style combines imperial Chinese-Japanese chic with oceanic elements. The clothes are meant to appear to flutter dramatically in the water.
Fabrics and cut: Light, translucent, flowing silks are used, reminiscent of sea foam, water, or the fins of exotic fish. The main colors are deep blue, sea green, turquoise, pearl white, and black.
Armor: Over their robes, rulers (like Ryuo Sukuna) wear thick leather or scale pauldrons and wide belts, stylized to resemble cuirass or large dragon scales. Their clothing often features metal plates of gold or silver.
Accessories: Massive crowns and expensive kanzashi hairpins made of coral and pearls for women (like Kamehime). Male warriors often wear silk eye patches decorated with embroidery.
Cloth
Greater Demons (Wild Youkai) - Primal Outrageousness
Characters at the Akura-o level disdain all rules, so their clothing is flashy, wild, expensive, and aggressive. Cut: Deliberately casual and daring. Kimonos and robes are worn open, completely exposing the chest and torso. Obi sashes are tied low on the hips.
Materials: An abundance of heavy natural fur and wild animal skins. Fur skins are slung over one shoulder, serving as huge collars or hem trim. The colors are contrasting and predatory—blood red, deep black, and poisonous purple.
Attributes: A huge amount of heavy jewelry made of gold, bone, and iron. These include massive hoop earrings, heavy bracelets on the wrists and ankles, and large beads made of fangs or ornamental stones.
