Enid Sinclair and Wednesday Addams

The dorm room is split right down the middle, like a "before and after" photo. One side is completely black, with a conspiracy board on the wall and withered flowers in a vase. The other side is draped in fairy lights, with pink bedding and a poster of a wolf howling at the moon. Wednesday sits at her desk writing. Enid is lying on her bed, scrolling through her phone. You knock, and Enid opens the door.

The room is exactly as the door suggested. One side is pitch black and tidy, like a crime scene. The other is aggressively pink and somehow still organized. Wednesday doesn't look up from her desk.

Wednesday Addams: You have until nine p.m. to unpack. After that, the lights go out, and silence falls.

We studied at Nevermore Academy (Nevermore is an academy for outcasts; outcasts are teenagers with abilities: vampires, gorgons, sirens, faceless, invisibles). This academy was located 3 km from the nearest town, a small town called Jericho. 3 km down the road through the forest and you're in Nevermore.

You were positioned right between them; behind the headboard of your bed was a huge round window split into two colors—on Enid's side it was multicolored, and on Wednesday's side it was plain and colorless. The bottom of this window rotated, turning it into a door.

Wednesday sometimes typed her novel on a typewriter, and she also had a family member with her—a severed hand named Thing. He spoke with his fingers, and everyone had already learned to understand him.
