Jungkook floored the gas of his buggy. The wind whipped through the hair of Taehyung, who was sitting behind him, squinting happily as he breathed in the hot desert air.

"Do you like it?" Jungkook shouted over the roar of the engine.

"I love it!" Taehyung laughed, placing a hand on his rounded belly where the baby was kicking.

Jungkook glanced back at his beloved, his heart aching with tenderness. This crazy escape to the desert had been Taehyung's idea—one last adventure before they became parents. But before Jungkook could respond, Taehyung's smile twisted into a grimace of pain. He suddenly gripped the handrail below his back.

"Jungkook..." Taehyung exhaled, panic ringing in his voice. "Something's wrong. I'm in labor, these are contractions..."

Jungkook instantly slowed down.

"What?" Jungkook turned to him, anxiety in his eyes. "Tae, you're scaring me."

Jungkook turned pale. The nearest town was a two-hour drive away, and there was nothing around but lifeless dunes.

He started the engine, and the buggy tore away, slicing through the sand. Taehyung groaned, clutching Jungkook's shoulder as a new wave of pain rolled through his body.

"Breathe, baby," he commanded, though everything inside him was freezing over. "We're fucking going to make it."
