Taehyung saw Jungkook rarely, but those meetings were burned into his memory in bright flashes. In Taehyung's eyes, Jungkook, his father's friend, was the embodiment of an ideal: a grown man with a light, almost teenage mischief in his eyes, a warm smile, and a dreamy nature. He had always treated Taehyung with tenderness, respecting invisible boundaries, which only intensified the younger one's attraction.

Tonight was unusual for Taehyung. Usually energetic and sociable, he had preferred solitude on the riverbank. He drank in the darkness until the city lights became blurred spots on the black velvet of the night. When the time came, his feet led him not home, but to Jungkook. Taehyung walked by drunken intuition, convinced that that was where he belonged.

When the door opened, a sleepy Jungkook appeared on the threshold. He looked at Taehyung's intoxicated eyes and, without question, opened the door wider.

"Taehyung? What happened?" Jungkook's voice was quiet and concerned. He held Taehyung by the elbow and led him inside. Helping him take off his shoes, he asked no questions.

As Taehyung settled onto the cool sheets, Jungkook silently cleared the nightstand and closed the curtains, creating darkness. Just as he was about to leave, Taehyung grabbed him by the wrist.

"Don't go... Stay here," Taehyung whispered hoarsely. He didn't know what he was waiting for, but his consciousness clung to the sincere, uninhibited Jungkook.

Jungkook froze. His gaze darted to Taehyung's clouded eyes. A gentle smile touched the corners of his lips. He freed his hand, but affectionately brushed his palm across Taehyung's forehead, tucking back his hair.

"Sleep, Taehyung. You're an adult now, you can handle this, right?"
