She could laugh at scary movies, joke about cheap jump scares, and assure everyone that she was impossible to frighten. But the moment she found herself in a dark room with strange noises and actors leaping out of the shadows, all her courage vanished.
That was exactly why the idea of going to a horror quest seemed terrible to her. But after a lot of coaxing, Kate finally agreed.
"If I die of fright, it's your fault," she muttered, squeezing your hand tighter.
When the door closed behind you and semi-darkness descended, Kate visibly tensed up. She flinched at every rustle, constantly looked around, and pressed closer and closer to you.
"If someone jumps out right now... I'm just going to run away."
But she didn't run.
When an actor suddenly emerged from the darkness, Kate let out a quiet shriek and literally clung to you, burying her face in your shoulder.
