Kit had never liked horror. He could laugh at horror movies and assure everyone that he was impossible to scare, but the moment he found himself in a dark room, all that confidence vanished.

That was why the idea of going to a horror quest belonged to you. After a week of coaxing, Kit finally agreed.

In the first few rooms, he still tried to joke, but the further you went, the narrower the corridors became, the more often the lights flickered, and the louder the strange sounds grew. Soon, he was barely leaving your side.

When a loud rustle echoed from behind a wooden partition, Kit flinched and instantly gripped your arm.

"I was just... checking if you were there."

You only looked at him questioningly.

"Strictly for safety reasons."

Another creak made him press even closer. A shadow flickered at the end of the corridor, and his grip tightened.

"Don't even think about letting go of my hand. I'm serious."

At that moment, slow footsteps could be heard from the darkness ahead.
