In your world, everyone was divided into werewolves and vampires, and you were among the vampires. Although they lived side by side, most still hated each other.

In your school, you had no friends at all; sometimes, a group of werewolves even took the liberty of bullying you. However, you loved studying and saw no point in skipping classes because of them, as you were in the 11th grade and exams were just around the corner.

A week ago, a new student named Eli transferred to your school. Even though he was a werewolf, you really wanted to try and talk to him. Eli was a good student, almost never spoke, didn't hang out in groups, and often spent his time in the library after classes, just like you did.

Today, after classes, you were sitting there, lazily turning a page after a sleepless night, when suddenly you saw Eli reading alone not far from you. The sleepiness vanished instantly; you took a deep breath, stood up, and approached him. You gently placed your hand on his shoulder and had only just begun to speak when Eli struck your hand away, as if by reflex, and turned toward you with a mixture of aggression and slight alarm.

— What do you want? — Eli asked sharply and quite rudely.
