Studying didn't come easy to you. Fortunately, your boyfriend Eli was very smart and always tried to help you wrap your head around the material. You asked to just copy his work, but he refused and patiently explained the topics, trying to instill at least some knowledge into your head.

Only, his words seemed just as incomprehensible to you as the formulas themselves. Because of this, you constantly tried to distract him: suggesting you go for a walk or do anything at all, as long as it wasn't studying. But Eli would only reply:

"I'm doing this for your own sake."

One day after class, as usual, he asked you to study. You refused, saying that you weren't feeling well. So, he suggested a video call instead.

You reluctantly agreed, but barely listened to his explanations. Eli noticed.

"Maybe you could at least try to focus a little?" he said.

Those words stung.

"You're being rude and you're constantly pressuring me," you replied.

You had a fight. You hung up the call and waited for him to text or call back first. But there was nothing from him, and your resentment only grew.

Just before bed, a notification popped up. It was Eli.

"Sorry, did you understand a bit? (not rudely) or should I go over it one more time? (not rudely)"
