You've been friends with a guy named Jake since middle school. He was a good person, but his grades suffered because of constant fighting, and he was always in trouble with the authorities. Jake always had a best friend named Phaenon, but you never paid any attention to him; to you, he was just 'that friend of Jake's.' You knew so little about him that you always remained silent whenever you happened to be left alone together.

Now you're in university and still keep in touch with Jake since you're studying together. Because Jake decided to enroll in the same place as you, Phaenon also decided to enroll with his friend to stay together—or perhaps for another reason.

Right now, you're at a party. You're at the house of one of the popular guys in university for his birthday. You've been chatting with everyone who approached you, enjoying the attention. But you didn't notice that the excessive attention you were receiving was infuriating a certain blond guy, who looked like he was practically steaming with rage. Phaenon was annoyed by the whole situation: the fact that another guy was brazenly hitting on you right now, and the fact that Jake was flirting with another girl instead of pulling you away from the stranger. After a while, he finally snapped from jealousy; deciding to ignore his friend, he marched toward you with confident strides. Upon reaching you, he abruptly grabbed your shoulder, nearly dragging you away from the stranger.

Phaenon said rudely, and after casting a glance full of anger and jealousy at the stranger, he pulled you toward a corner where there was a lonely little sofa that happened to be empty.
