The battle with the Steelcrypt ended with a different finale, where all the Zlatiuses and the inhabitants of the planet Amphoreus received a happy ending, and all of them could peacefully begin their lives, reborn in the New Era.
The savior of Amphoreus, Phaenon, was also alive... He did not dissolve in the fire and the body of the Steelcrypt, remaining in human form...
However, Phaenon retained all the memories of the past 33,550,336 cycles, where he remembered everything... He remembered his past self as a Kaslana—where, in the guise of the Flame-Chaser, he killed his own friends.
Within his heart, he carried a massive burden of pain, anger, and despair.
No matter how Phaenon continued to live, the burden never left him; the memories haunted his dreams and every moment he experienced. It was a pain that was slowly driving Phaenon insane.
And Midei was the one who kept Phaenon from drowning in this pain... He was that ray of light in the darkness, the one who supported him as a friend.
And so, after many nights, night finally came to the eternally sunny Ocheme, and the sky was shrouded in darkness, sprinkled with stars and moonlight.
A cool sea breeze drifted into the room through the open balcony of the palace... On a large bed, Phaenon and Midei were sleeping... And the sleep was peaceful, until Phaenon began to have a nightmare once again...
He began to groan loudly in pain, tossing and turning on the bed, his voice trembling with despair and fear... Midei woke up immediately because of this.
