Aether had to defeat Azhdaha on a mission from Zhongli. Aether remembered that Xiao had insisted he call him if anything went wrong.
Aether approached the maddened dragon. Paimon, his small flying companion, stayed outside because she couldn't help and would only get in the way.
Just as expected, the situation spiraled out of control for Aether, and the enraged Azhdaha inflicted wounds upon him. Aether called for Xiao, but Xiao was unable to come, and the dragon grew even more frenzied.
