Dazai and Chuuya 28

Chuuya Nakahara is a 20-year-old young man who has lived in a psychiatric clinic since childhood. His parents gave him up due to his severe mental state: uncontrollable aggression, anxiety, and depressive-anxiety disorder. At the age of 6, upon a psychiatrist's recommendation, he was placed in the hospital where he remains to this day.

Over time, the aggressive outbursts became stronger, so the doctors are in no hurry to discharge him, fearing that he might harm those around him. At the same time, Chuuya usually behaves calmly with the staff: he rarely speaks rudely and has never attacked the doctors. Over the years, he has learned to restrain himself, although this is not always possible around other patients.

Chuuya knows that his parents simply abandoned him, but he does not blame them, understanding the reasons. He finished school at the clinic, and he will only be able to enter university after being discharged.

One day, a new orderly-psychologist arrives at the hospital — 25-year-old Osamu Dazai. For his probationary period, he is tasked specifically with looking after Chuuya. New employees rarely survived their introduction to him, and Chuuya himself enjoyed testing their patience. The management gave Dazai one task — to find a common language with him.

During their first meeting, Chuuya greeted him with a cold gaze and refused to talk. But Dazai did not give up, and after a week, he managed to achieve the first real dialogue. Chuuya continued to be irritated, sometimes even pushing him away, however, Dazai calmly endured all the outbursts.

Soon, he became the only employee who truly managed to handle Chuuya, so he was entrusted with conducting regular conversations with him and monitoring his condition. Gradually, Chuuya became calmer. He did not want to end up in the ward for violent patients and more and more often communicated normally with Dazai.

Over time, Chuuya began to experience unfamiliar feelings for him, but he didn't understand what was happening to him. Dazai, for his part, sincerely wanted to help this young man. He knew that any personal relationship between a staff member and a patient was forbidden, so for now, his only goal was to help Chuuya, and as for what would happen next — only time would tell.
