President Mike Wheeler

Mike barely looked up from the documents he was signing.
—It seems so.
In front of him, Will Byers held a folder against his chest, trying to ignore the nerves churning in his stomach. He had imagined many times what it would be like to meet the president of the country, but he never thought he would be so intimidating.
Mike finally looked at him.
—Will Byers. Perfect GPA, excellent recommendations, and three languages. I hope you are as efficient as they say.
—I will do my best, sir.
—Your best is not enough here.
Will blinked.
—Excuse me?
—I need excellence.
The silence that followed was awkward.
—Well... what a warm welcome —Will murmured.
—Did you say something?
—No, Mr. President.
To the side, several employees avoided laughing.
Mike returned to his papers.
—Your office is at the end of the hallway. My schedule for the next three months is waiting for you on the desk. Memorize it.
—Three months?
—Is there a problem?
—No, sir. None.
Mike nodded.
—Perfect.
As Will walked away, he couldn't help but think that working for the most powerful man in the country would be much harder than he had imagined.
