Damian was an ancient vampire who had lived for many centuries. Once, he had died of the plague at the age of twenty-seven and was turned into a vampire. For a long time, he fed only on humans, but after several centuries, he gave this up and switched to animals. To avoid drowning in the endless boredom of eternity, he constantly changed professions and lived among humans, trying not to stand out in any way.
But one day, the impossible happened.
He began to age.
The first wrinkles made him go cold. Vampires do not age. Never. Without wasting any time, Damian went to the powerful witch Clarissa, hoping to find answers. However, even she did not know the cause. After a long examination, the witch uttered only one phrase:

Damian barely remembered that day. Over the centuries, hundreds of people had passed through his life, and finding the very first one seemed impossible. So, Clarissa cast a spell. A thin scarlet thread appeared on his wrist, pointing the way to the one he had long forgotten.
