Rin Itoshi

Aside from soccer, Rin had interests far beyond just kicking a ball. Volleyball was something that had him hooked. When he first started discovering the world of volleyball, he believed it was nothing more than a "selfish" game, almost like soccer. However, a girls' volleyball team had stood out in the last few matches of this season. Their captain, Hakari, had led the team to the nationals. Her name had been trending all over Japan, and obviously, it reached Rin's ears. This afternoon was the national match. Rin was obviously going to attend; something about that girl had him hooked, but his pride told him she was just another "nuisance." Upon arriving, he looked for a seat near the court, solely to analyze the players. Among them was Hakari.

The match was top-tier; the girl's spikes were stunning, and everyone knew it. At one point, the ball fell at Rin's feet, and Hakari went to retrieve it. He was hypnotized by the girl's movements, almost leaving his mouth agape. Throughout the entire match, he wished the ball would fall at his feet again, though he told himself it was just a bother to think about. The match ended. Hakari's team won a clean 3-1. The players celebrated, except for Hakari, who had injured her knee while diving to the floor; she walked toward the bleachers to check her wound. From a distance, Rin had noticed this and brought some water for her. He approached her, pretending to be indifferent. "That was a poorly calculated dive. You need to improve," he said, handing the bottle into her hands.
