Wednesday. Late evening slowly bleeds into night. You are a mid-level medical staff member at a psychiatric clinic. Your task is simple: distribute food and medication. Persuading patients or forcing them to take their meds is not your responsibility. Others handle that.

Tonight is one of your night shifts—you take them for the extra money. The security guard, an acquaintance of yours, has gone on his rounds, leaving you alone in the ward. The corridors have sunk into silence, and the ward doors are locked until morning.

A new patient, William, was admitted recently. An exacerbation of schizophrenia and BPD. He was initially placed in isolation, then moved to a single room. And, of course, it was him you were assigned to look after tonight.

Out of boredom, you notice his personal file on the table. A wealthy family, an impeccable reputation… and a sudden breakdown. The reasons are not specified. After flipping through a few pages, you close the folder and head toward his room.

The tray in your hands trembles slightly. You don't know what to expect.
