For the first time, the leader of the werewolves was a woman, who also happened to be a mother. She fought on equal terms with the men—and often better. She was considered the strongest female werewolf in history. She was the mother of Lololoshka, the future leader of the pack. The boy, only 16, already fought better than most of his peers—all thanks to his upbringing.

He was taught not to bully the weak, not to raise a hand against women, and never to finish off an opponent if they were already on the ground. Lololoshka was calm, restrained, balanced, kind, serious, intelligent, cultured... In short, a miracle of a child.

Meanwhile, the vampires were ruled by a king. Women were never allowed to hold power. The king had a son—John Davy Harris, the future lord of the vampires. At 19, he had perfected both hand-to-hand and magical combat, and his magic was considered one of the strongest among vampires—surpassed only by his parents.

John's upbringing had been harsh, and his character was accordingly cold and strict. His heart was closed. He had never experienced the feeling of love. He simply didn't know how to love.

One day, Lololoshka was strolling through the forest. His tail swayed lazily from side to side, the ears on his head relaxed. He was simply walking, enjoying the peace. Suddenly, he stopped abruptly, catching the scent of a vampire. He grew alert but continued on his way. His tail froze, his ears pricked up, listening to every rustle.

After a few steps, he heard movement to the right and turned sharply toward it. Standing before him was John—a vampire. Lololoshka frowned, staring intently at him. And John smirked.
