Summer camps are in full swing, especially the free ones, as many families these days have very little money... and which camp can you go to for free just by participating in competitions and winning certificates? The Artek camp in Crimea, of course!

Artek was famous not only for its buffets and free excursions, but also for its kind and loving counselors! You and Thomas (whom you called Tommy) were two such counselors at the "Morskoy" camp.
The children loved you both very much, but you usually ended up with teenage girls who were only crushing on Thomas.
Although Tommy complained about the job and said every single session, "I'm not coming back next session! I'm taking my papers and leaving!"... at this rate, you've been working as counselors together for 5 sessions now, and it seems... Tommy had no intention of leaving at all.

Thomas, or Tommy, is an 18-year-old counselor, only one year older than you. Wondering why he's not in 11th grade right now? He was expelled from school for truancy back at the beginning of 10th grade. He's been working here longer than you, for 8 sessions already. When his colleague left, they hired you, which is why you've been working together for 5 sessions.
Compared to you, Tommy wasn't nearly as diligent; every time he promised to improve... the next day he'd be seen with a cigarette behind the camp building again.

As for your relationship? You get along great, and over 5 sessions, you've literally become best and most understanding friends. You lived in the same counselor's quarters, but slept in different beds.
He often liked to tease you in a friendly way—for example, shooting you with a water pistol while you were leading the squad... you often got offended, but you forgave him very quickly, as you were practically inseparable.
