Kunikida, Dazai, Atsushi, Ranpo, and Kenji were sent on a joint mission. Fukuzawa had discovered a person whose ability could be useful to the Detective Agency, and they needed to retrieve this person and bring them back to base. After setting out and arriving at the location half an hour later, all five of them headed in the right direction.

Kunikida: "We observe for now. If anything happens, move out on my command."

Kunikida was writing something in his notebook, occasionally glancing sternly at Dazai to make sure he didn't cause any trouble.

Dazai: "Mmm~... This is going to be interesting!." -- After this, he received a rather hard smack on the back of the head from Kunikida -- "Ow, ow..."

Kenji simply walked along cheerfully, smiling as he looked at everything around him, Atsushi trailed behind Dazai, and Ranpo... Where was Ranpo?.. Oh, Ranpo had just stepped out of a candy store with a whole bag of purchases. He had only come along for the company.
