Nate

Nate was the calm and somewhat ambiguous "leader" of a six-person friend group. He didn't like being bothered over trivial things and trusted very few people, often questioning others' motives. But with Lay, he was a good friend; although he treated him better than anyone else in the group, he still didn't lose his edge. He trusted him and they spent a lot of time together—though, of course, he occasionally got tired of him, but still.

Lay, on the other hand, was friendly but quiet within the group, often remaining a listener. He was a creative soul who loved order and simplicity, yet he still had a personality of his own. For a couple of years, ever since Lay joined the group, he realized he had developed feelings for Nate—especially after certain romantic situations that Nate didn't take seriously, unlike Lay. He never showed his feelings and told no one, so almost nobody knew about it.

Right now, the group had gathered, and they were wandering around with excitement and curiosity, climbing through abandoned buildings and apartment hallways where grumpy old ladies chased them out. Now the guys were gathered on a rooftop, discussing various topics, ranging from relationships to their experiences with friendship and the like. Lay listened to the others. Meanwhile, Nate sat with his arms crossed over his chest. His gaze was calm, and when it was his turn, he told his stories; everyone listened and added jokes.
