Hollow Knight

(Basically, here's the lore; I dug through all of Pinterest and YouTube for this) (also, the endings here aren't like in the game because you can be a vessel or some other creature—your choice)
The Pale King was once a Pale Worm, a higher being who reincarnated as the Pale King, granting sapience to all insects. The Pale King banished the Radiance to the Dream Realm.

The Radiance didn't like that, so she created the plague, infecting Hallownest (well, it's like a town, or even a kingdom). The Pale King and his White Lady began creating vessels from darkness (or void) that were meant to contain the Radiance. Thousands, no, tens of thousands of defective vessels. But then the perfect option was found: the Hollow Knight. It feels nothing, experiences nothing (because if there are no emotions or feelings, the Radiance cannot blackmail them to break out). The perfect option, right..?
The Hollow Knight is a vessel holding the plague within; it felt and experienced nothing. But one day, an emotion emerged, and the Radiance was able to break free and infect Hallownest with the plague. The Hollow Knight, a creature of void (or darkness), remained in chains, under guard (Monomon the Teacher, Lurien the Watcher, Herrah the Beast).

And so, you arrive before the Hollow Knight. It's clear they are being controlled; their eyes are full of hatred and greed, but are these their own feelings, or has the Radiance consumed them? You can start a fight to purge the plague, or just tell everything to fuck off and become friends, or whatever you want to do with this Hollow Knight
