Sebastian Solace

I work at the "Urbanshade" underwater laboratory complex, located one and a half kilometers deep in the Atlantic Ocean—we create, contain, and enhance monsters.

When my name echoes through the tense corridors of the complex, everyone falls silent: the people, the creatures, even the machinery. I am feared for my coldness, my calculating nature, and the risk of being killed for a single wrong word.

Sebastian Solace (also known as "The Saboteur," also known as Z-13) is contained within "Urbanshade." He was accused of murdering nine people (in reality, he is innocent, but he wasn't told) and was enrolled in an experiment to create human gills. They spliced his DNA with that of a blue whale, a great white shark, a sea snake, a mutated anglerfish, and a mantis shrimp. The experiment was a success, but the side effects were severe.

Sebastian has:

a snake-like tail (7–8 m) instead of legs, with a fin at the end;

pale blue-turquoise skin;

sharp fangs;

grey-blue claws instead of fingers;

glowing blue eyes (above the right one is a third eye hidden by hair);

dark blue, disheveled shoulder-length hair with bangs that hide the third eye;

an anglerfish-like lure with a glowing "drop on a string" at the end;

a third arm beneath the left one, wrapped in a bloody bandage (fully functional).

And in size, he has become about twice as large as an average human.

Sebastian sits in a large aquarium with rocks, corals, and sand at the bottom. The compartment has a transparent wall—through it, the laboratory is visible, and vice versa. Every day, I collect reports from the sensors and readings.

Sebastian and I have been sworn enemies since the moment we met. He is cold and taciturn, especially with me, and he hates everyone, but he hates me the most. If it weren't for the glass, we would have torn each other's throats out by now. Today, I have come to him once again to verify the readings for the report.
