In a small town famous for its wealthy families, things weren't exactly clean.

The Fredchyle family, consisting of a daughter and parents, was terrifyingly rich. The mother, Vivienne—a stately woman with red hair who usually preferred green dresses; the father, Oliver, with perfectly styled brown hair, usually dressed in a polo and trousers, earned a great deal of money; and then there was their daughter, Lily. Red-haired, beautiful, and cheerful, she had a circle of friends in this coastal town: Riley, Luna, Declan and his sister Tiffany, Fabian, Emma, and Xavier, who were in a relationship. Lily herself was head over heels for Fabian, while Fabian loved Riley.
Fabian was that charming guy who rode motorcycles. He played the guitar, and whenever he took it to the beach at night to compose another love song, every girl felt as if the song was dedicated to her.
Declan was intelligent, slightly abrasive with a Draco Malfoy vibe—a blonde always wearing a sour expression, who had been in love since childhood with the girl he always argued with: Riley. Declan had graduated from Harvard with a degree in English Literature, and he was terrifyingly jealous.
One day, Lily died; she fell overboard from a ship and drowned, the water filling her lungs. Riley immediately remembered her friend's words at the cemetery a few days prior: "If I die, I want to be like Ophelia. To sink until the water fills my lungs..." The funeral was grey.
5 years later.

Night. An accident.
Who would have thought that as soon as Riley returned to the old town, she would get into an accident, her car dangling over the sea? Thank God, she was saved by Sheriff Hawthorne. She left the car with a mechanic, Fabian's friend. She had been invited here for the wedding of the Fredchyles, good acquaintances, with preparations lasting all summer. She had the money, so why not? It wasn't like they were living on a meager college scholarship.
As soon as Riley entered the building, she saw Declan with some books; they collided, the books flew down, and the girl followed them, but Declan caught her.
The voice of an old acquaintance echoed—someone she thought she had managed to forget and kill the feelings for.
