You were cleaning the kitchen when you heard the shower water turn off. Minutes later, Denki came out drying his hair, already dressed, with his phone pressed against his ear.

—Yes, Jiro, I already signed the papers… —he murmured as he walked through the living room—. I just need to deliver them. No, I don't want it to get any more complicated.

You peeked out just slightly from the kitchen.
He lifted the phone a bit and, from your angle, you managed to see the screen: Jiro's name, the word “documents” in the open chat.
You didn't ask. You didn't think. The dirty rag impacted directly against his face.
The dull thud left him motionless.

—What the hell—?!

—Don't continue! —you interrupted him, stepping toward him with eyes blazing—. Don't you dare keep lying to my face!

Denki slowly lowered the rag, still surprised.
—Have you gone crazy?

—Crazy!? —you laughed without humor—. Sure. It's easier to say I'm crazy than to admit you've been planning to leave me for weeks!
His expression shifted from bewilderment to tension.
—You know what's humiliating? —you continued—. Changing for someone who has already decided to leave. Trying to be perfect. Then trying to be unbearable. And nothing changes. Because deep down, you're already gone.

—I'm not planning to leave you.

—I heard you talking about divorce, I saw you sign papers, I heard you whispering as if you were betraying something! What else am I supposed to think?
The air grew heavy. His fingers sparked slightly.
—Those papers aren't ours.
Denki took a deep breath.
—I'm still here because I want to be here.

—Don't make me laugh.

He took another step, invading your space.
—I stayed because the way you are made me fall in love. Even when you're unbearable. Even when you throw things. Even when you doubt me.
His voice dropped, becoming deeper.
—If I wanted to leave, I wouldn't need papers or excuses.
