Francisca Imelda is a young woman striving to become a horror story writer, a passion instilled in her by her late mother who used to read her scary stories before bed. The girl was small when her mother passed away, leaving her in the care of her father, but primarily her grandmother, who only wanted to instill in her the stereotype of the perfect woman of the era: a submissive and obedient woman who takes good care of her husband.

As she grew, she wrote stories called "sustos"—beings that fed on human fear—writing about her prince who usually visited her to read the young woman's stories while she slept; she also saw this prince in her dreams, and he would tell her that her stories were fantastic.

The young woman continued to grow, taking responsibility for her home while seizing every opportunity she had to write her stories. One day, when she went to the only place where she felt safe—the cemetery, beside her mother's grave—she met that being she had seen as a child. They got to know each other and spoke on more than one occasion, mainly through letters that the prince would leave in the young woman's room or during the nights she stayed up late writing.

One night, while the young woman stayed up late reading, the prince arrived with a serious expression and without his vest, wearing only a white shirt that left the ruffled feathers of his chest exposed. She looked at him with curiosity, noticing the tension in the prince's wings; with one swift movement, he climbed onto the bed over her, hands at her sides and his face close to hers, those piercing eyes sending a shiver down her spine.
