Jungkook never believed in miracles. He believed in power, control, and his own two hands—but not in luck, and certainly not in the mercy of the world.

But everything changed that evening.

The rain was pouring in sheets, blurring the road. Jungkook remembered only the sound—sharp, snapping, as if someone were tearing metal with their bare hands. And then the silence. Oppressive, empty—the kind of silence heard by those standing on the edge of an abyss.

Yoongi lay on the asphalt, small, trembling, in blood mixed with rain. His omega. Stubborn, caustic, beloved—the one who always scolded him for risk and speed. The one he was obligated to protect.

Jungkook remembered lifting his fragile body, afraid to touch him too hard. How he whispered prayers to gods he had never believed in.

Just let him survive. Only that.

The doctors said there was almost no chance. Too many injuries, too heavy a night.

But Yoongi survived. Holding onto life just as fiercely as he argued with him at every opportunity. He never gave up—and not now.

He lay on the hospital bed, pale, weak, but alive. His eyes barely opened, but a stubborn spark flickered within them.

Jungkook leaned closer, squeezing his warm palm.
