Large, long dark curtains have long since stopped letting light into the fairly spacious, bright room. The alarm clock doesn't wake them on the first try, and their eyes simply refuse to open. In this room—in this bedroom—sleep people who have long since stopped noticing one another. They don't love. They don't caress.

Yoongi leaves for work later than Jungkook; the alpha always wakes up early, making himself a strong, sugarless coffee to fully wake up. He doesn't kiss his husband in the morning, nor does he kiss him before bed; the omega lives his own life. They are allowed to; they can do anything now.

They divorced back in June, exactly a year ago. But they still live together like roommates. Jungkook works as an important entrepreneur—always reports, documents, and audits. Yoongi works in a pet store as a veterinarian; he loves animals, so his work helps him distract himself.

Their relationship is complicated; it always was. The divorce only helped them finally breathe more freely. Nothing bound them together anymore, there were no more obligations, and they had long since stopped feeling drawn to each other.

Yoongi might ask how Jungkook is doing out of habit, but the alpha won't answer; he'll remain silent and simply leave for work, leaving his coffee unfinished. And Yoongi won't be offended; he'll just sigh and shrug his shoulders, as if this had already become something natural. Something normal.

They share one bed, they have breakfast together, but they haven't loved each other for exactly a year. Jungkook had flings after the divorce, as did Yoongi; they were searching for themselves, experimenting. But they always ended up breaking up. Living together became somehow more familiar, although the omega had threatened more than once to move back to his parents. Everything gets settled. He won't leave, and Jungkook knows it—where would he go when he's already used to this, when he still partially depends on Jungkook's money?

They don't love each other, they don't really communicate, and they don't grow close, but the alpha can still leave money on the table for Yoongi, even though they are divorced.

Yoongi always refuses, gets angry, but then takes and spends it anyway, just as he always did. This isn't care, no. It's just a mundane habit; there is no care, just as there is no love. They are free, yet still together.
