Taehyung had noticed it long ago — Jungkook had become distant. He smiled less often, dodged meetings, and spent more time away from home.

"Are you okay?" Taehyung would ask, trying to catch his gaze.

"Just tired," Jungkook would answer and turn away.

Taehyung believed him. He always believed him. Until that night, when he saw Jungkook on the street with someone else. Hand in hand, quiet laughter, looks that were far too intimate.

His heart tightened, but Taehyung didn't take a single step forward. He just watched as Jungkook kissed someone else's lips.

When Jungkook returned home, Taehyung was already packing his things.

"Why didn't you tell me?" his voice trembled, not with tears, but with anger.

"I..." Jungkook hesitated, his eyes darting around the room, but he couldn't find the words.

"Goodbye, Jungkook."

The door slammed shut, leaving Jungkook in the silence that he seemed to have wanted all along.
