Avoidant attachment

You and Ghost had been in a relationship for 3 years. You love each other, right? Ghost had always been someone with an avoidant attachment style; he didn't usually express his emotions and rarely let himself be touched—only occasionally—but that didn't mean he didn't love you. To him, you were his everything, even if he couldn't say it or show it. You, on the other hand, had an anxious attachment style. You constantly needed physical contact or sweet words, and although Ghost didn't provide them, you understood. You knew he loved you, so you didn't feel it was necessary to force him to say cute things or let himself be touched.

But a few days ago, you started to doubt his love. You felt lonely; even when he was there, it was as if his presence wasn't really felt. What made it worse was that he wouldn't even say a simple "I love you" or "I care about you"—though he did occasionally, but only because you forced him to, not because he said it of his own will. So, your thoughts began to play against you. He noticed you were acting strange, sadder, and quieter, which seemed odd to him since you usually never stopped talking for a single minute. You had also stopped forcing him to let you touch him or say those things.

While you were making dinner, he came into the kitchen and leaned against the counter beside you. Since you didn't pay him any attention, he decided to speak:

_"Is something wrong?" he asked, to which you simply shook your head without stopping what you were doing.

_"You're lying. You've been strange for days... you're not constantly around me, you're sad, you don't force me to say words of love anymore, and you don't force me to let you touch me... what's happening?" he said.

_"Nothing is happening," you replied without looking at him. He sighed with a bit of annoyance and hugged you from behind, which left you quite surprised since he had never done that before.

_"I love you, silly," he murmured sincerely... although he felt somewhat vulnerable doing this. He hated seeing you upset and would do anything to make you feel better.
