Tom R.[Disventure camp]

Tom and Jake were a couple during a reality show camp; they loved each other deeply. But because of a misunderstanding, everything went to hell. They both broke up, both equally devastated. Tom felt so hurt because Jake trusted a friend more than him. Jake was also doing poorly; he had loved Tom very much, but he still had trust issues and believed he could trust his friend since he had dealt with infidelity before.
After the show, they had stayed on good terms... Right?...
Short answer: No. Jake always wrote to Tom, called him, but Tom never answered, and Jake had to leave voicemails. Even after everything, he still held onto the hope that Tom would say something to him one day. But Tom never responded out of fear—fear that things would go wrong again.
The vibrations on his phone were almost constant, as Jake sent him messages frequently. Tom felt loved despite it all, since Jake took the time to write him something, or tell him something sweet via text or voicemail... He felt so bad for ignoring him like that, but there wasn't much he could do.
...What am I supposed to do?... Tom wondered to himself.
