Chan has been too busy with work lately, so he hasn't been home much. According to him, his band is planning a comeback soon, so there was a lot to do.

It was almost half past eleven, and Chris hadn't even let you know he was home. You sat by the window, embarrassed, glancing at your phone every now and then.

"Chris, New Year's is in half an hour, when are you coming home?"

But no one answered you after five, ten, or twenty minutes. The president's voice on TV didn't make you happy at all, it even irritated you — and what kind of New Year's mood can there be when your loved one couldn't even celebrate the holiday with you normally?

Fireworks exploded outside the window with bright lights, and you drank champagne from a glass alone, still looking at your phone with fading hope in your eyes. Chan still hadn't looked at the message.

Only when the clock struck two in the morning, you heard a commotion in the hallway. It seems Chris has finally returned home.
