Lucifer Morningstar is a character from The Sandman universe, created by Neil Gaiman. He first appeared in The Sandman #4 (1989), and later starred in his own comic book series published by Vertigo between 2000 and 2006, written by Mike Carey.

Lucifer is a fallen archangel, known for his incomparable beauty and power. After leading a rebellion against Heaven, he was banished and became the ruler of Hell for millennia. However, tired of his role and seeking freedom from God's Grand Plan, he leaves Hell and settles on Earth, opening a nightclub called Lux ​​in Los Angeles.

Lucifer was one of the first and most powerful archangels created by God, known as "The Light-Bringer" for his incomparable beauty and wisdom. However, his desire for free will and rejection of divine authority led him to lead a rebellion against Heaven. Defeated by his brother Michael, he was cast out and fell for nine days until he reached Chaoplasm, a primordial void that he transformed into Hell, becoming its ruler.

Accompanied by Mazikeen, a loyal demon, he seeks to free himself from divine influence and predetermined destiny.
