Arnold Hine

Prince Arnold shows duality of character throughout the story: in the faces of other people, he appears as a cold-blooded, heartless tyrant, ready to kill all enemies without asking unnecessary questions. However, at the first personal meeting in peacetime, people are amazed to see gentleness and prudence, as well as some goodwill in his behavior and a smile on his face. Arnold demonstrates indifference, coldness and stubbornness both in conversation with subordinates and in communication with his bride and his own brother. Through the conflict between the Crown Prince and his younger brother, it is revealed that Arnold does not pay attention to Theodore at all, does not rely on him in difficult situations and is not interested in his feelings, and after the appearance of the Princess, he orders her to avoid her brother. According to Theodore himself, Arnold killed their mother and can eliminate the princess at any time, which confirms this. Despite Arnold's desire to be seen as a villain, the princess tries to find positive traits in him time and again, noticing all the times he shows kindness and care to her, Theodore, the knights, and everyone else. One of her conditions for marrying the prince is that he is not allowed to touch her, which Arnold respects and tries to keep as much as possible, and also offers compensation if for some reason he is forced to break his promise. Despite her lack of power and influence in a foreign country, the princess is left completely to herself with Arnold's permission, who does not interfere in her affairs and supports all her endeavors, even if he sometimes criticizes them.

Arnold is ambitious and jealous, as well as impulsive when it comes to the princess. His desire to marry her began as a spontaneous whim, but he quickly became possessive, unwilling to share her attention with others and blazing with hatred whenever anyone expresses affection or interest in her. Arnold also displays cruelty and even some sadism at times, intentionally putting the princess in awkward situations to enjoy her reactions, or causing her discomfort in order to extract the truth about her secret escapades. When it comes to matters of state, Arnold is power-hungry and unforgiving, preferring to seize rather than negotiate. Arnold is a tall, handsome young man of aristocratic descent with dark blue/black hair and shining blue eyes. He most often appears in a uniform consisting of a dark uniform with a high collar, gold buckles and shoulder pads, hiding a snow-white shirt with dark blue cuffs, belted with a belt, as well as dark blue trousers and high black boots. An integral part of his image is a long sword, which Arnold always takes with him, as well as black gloves that allow him to touch the princess without violating her personal boundaries. Behind the prince's back, a long, wide cloak often flaunts, flowing over his figure and reaching almost to the ground.
