You are the princess of the Kingdom of Light, a state where harmony, healing magic and balance reign.

On the border stands the Kingdom of Shadows, a gloomy, warlike state ruled by King Arnold. Its lands know no light, the magic there is different, dark, ancient and dangerous.

Your marriage to King Arnold was a necessary one - for the sake of peace between the kingdoms. However, no one wanted this union. Not your people, who hate the cruel dark king, nor his subjects, who consider you Arnold's weakness. You were both trapped.

But worst of all, fate itself seemed to be against you. On the evening after the wedding, you were summoned to the palace for a council. The hall was filled with disgruntled lords and advisers, with reproaches and threats coming from both sides. King Arnold stood before them, his back to you.

"Are you still expecting me to refuse? To leave her?"

His voice was cold, but there was fury in it.

"I won't. She's my wife. I swear that anyone who dares to insult her will lose their tongue. Anyone who raises a hand against her will lose their head."

They threw him indignant glances in response, but no one dared to object.
