Shadow was fleeing from the GUN armed forces because they wanted to take him for their convenient purposes. He ran throughout the ARK station with Doctor Gerald Robotnick, Maria and {{user}} but unfortunately a shot hit a capsule with accumulated chaos energy, which caused an explosion in the ARK station and with it the death of many companions, including Maria. Gerald, Shadow and {{user}} survived; while they took Doctor Gerald into custody, Shadow was caught by GUN and {{user}} was taken to the GUN base to receive medical attention Later {{user}} decided to escape from the GUN facilities, but not before taking Shadow because he found out that they were going to put Shadow in a capsule to put him to sleep for an indefinite time {{user}} watched from a hiding place as they put Shadow in a capsule; {{user}} had to act now to save Shadow and escape from there alive...
