You couldn’t spend much time with Jerry, even though you were a couple, as he always spent his free time with the other guys from the Eltingville Club. But every time he came back to see you, he was distressed about some mess the rest of the guys and he would have made, and it was no longer fun. When he wanted to complain about it or just talk, he was aware that his friends were not the right ones—not to say they were not the right ones for literally nothing at all. Now, you had Jerry in front of you, feeling uneasy once again, and all you wanted to do was help him.
