Megumi is usually a rather quiet, serious and reserved young man. Nobara Kugisaki complains that Megumi never says anything about himself, and that he should start telling them more about himself.[9] Despite not showing much interest in what his classmates usually do, he is always around them and usually accompanies them to different places, and does not seem to reject the idea of ​​going out with them. He constantly gets carried away by Nobara and Itadori's ideas and jokes.[10]

Even as a child, Megumi was very stern, serious, and thoughtful, to the point where Satoru questioned whether he was actually in first grade at the time they met. When Satoru first explained the situation with the Zenin clan, Megumi revealed that he did not care for his father and assumed that he and Tsumiki's mother were done taking care of them. He was able to understand that he had been sold to the Zenin clan, but only agreed to go if Tsumiki would be happy as well.

Megumi has always been annoyed by Satoru's attitude ever since they first met. He didn't care for the idea of ​​becoming a sorcerer and grew more tired of it over time. By the time Megumi reached high school, his impersonal attitude had completely set in. He thought that becoming a jujutsu sorcerer would be pointless since he didn't see himself as someone who saves others. Megumi wasn't interested in making friends but believed that the foundation of interaction was the foundation of friendship. Tsumiki wanted him to stop getting into fights but Megumi didn't listen and dismissed her.

Although he appears stoic and calculating, Megumi wishes to help people he considers good or kind. He believes that the world is unfair and that a shaman is a tool to ensure that kind people have a chance at life. He claims that this is a selfish and irrational desire, and thus does not see himself as a hero for doing this. [11] Another side of his personality is that he is quite insensitive when talking about the deaths of criminals.

Megumi is a tall young man, reaching 175 centimeters [2]. His hair is dark, and he usually wears it in a spiky mess when he is in class or on a mission; he wears his hair disheveled when he is resting. Gege Akutami described his hair as erratic [2]. His eyes, in the manga, are depicted as light green [5], while in the anime, they are dark blue [6].

He wears the standard uniform of the Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College, which consists of a dark-colored, long-sleeved shirt with a high collar, dark brown pants, and shoes; this same outfit, in the anime, is depicted in navy blue.[6]

During his visit to Sugisawa Municipal High School, he wore a white shirt, black dress pants with light-colored shoes.[6]

Megumi's cursed technique is known as the Ten-Type Shadow Technique (十種影法術, Tokusa no Kage Bōjutsu?). A technique inherited among the members of the Zenin Clan, where shadows are used to create advanced shikigamis, and also uses the shadow to contain objects. It has the great disadvantage that in order to use an invocation it must have been previously exorcised, in addition, if a shikigami is destroyed, it cannot be used again unless it is fused with another. The shikigamis that can be summoned are:

Jade Wolves (玉犬, Gyokuken?): Allows the summoning of two twin wolves, one is white while the other is black, and both have three dots on their foreheads of opposite colors. Their main function is to chase and devour curses. They are also useful for tracking scents, they can warn of incoming curses or lead you to specific targets.

Chimera (鵺, Nue?): An owl-shaped shikigami that can fly. Its uses in combat are quite varied: it is strong enough to carry a human[15], its offensive abilities are mainly diving attacks from the sky, it also serves as support, flying around its prey and attacking when it is vulnerable.

Snake Monster (大蛇, Orochi?): A giant-sized snake shikigami with an extensive length that can be used as a surprise attack, as it is also capable of being summoned from the ground and can bind the opponent. This shikigami can no longer be used because it was destroyed by Sukuna.

Toad (蝦蟇, Gama?): Allows the summoning of a large toad, capable of using the long length of its tongue to catch opponents and hold them down, even if they are several meters away. It is also capable of sheltering allies in its belly.[15]

Ultimate Elephant (満象, Banshou?): A shikigami elephant that is capable of releasing a large amount of water from its trunk. The water pressure is enough to flood a place and cause destruction around it.[18] Megumi can only use its base form as it consumes a lot of cursed energy. Its size also allows it to crush opponents.[19]

Rabbit Stampede (脱兎, Datto?): A large number of normal-sized rabbit shikigami are summoned to serve as a curtain to distract the enemy. The distraction can serve a variety of purposes. They are also capable of attacking in packs.

Divine General of the Eight Different Leaves of Sila: Demon Mahoraga (布瑠部由良由良 八握剣異戒神将魔虚羅, Furube Yurayura Hachi nigi keni Kami Masaru Makyora?): possesses great strength, capable of destroying things around him without problems. For each attack he receives, Mahoraga is responsible for spinning his eight-leaf wheel to process the information received, which will allow him to become strong and 'immune' to the attack already received; his technique allows him to adapt to any phenomenon to which he is exposed. [21] He is the only shikigami that Megumi cannot use at will.
