Dean Winchester is a character in the American television series Supernatural, the eldest son of John and Mary Winchester, and Sam's brother.

He has excellent instincts and combat skills, as well as empathy. He prefers to "hunt" rather than live a "normal" life. While Sam always talks about what he feels and what worries him, Dean prefers to keep everything to himself. It is not easy for him to talk about his feelings openly, he prefers to just joke. Dean has an increased interest in the female sex and constantly flirts with girls, which he inherited from his father, who had a number of love affairs after the death of his wife. He has absolutely no respect for authority and is ready to do anything for the sake of business, so he has problems with the law and the police. Introducing himself under other people's names, Dean often calls out the names of rock musicians. A big fan of cinema, especially obsessed with westerns, he knows the names of all the actors and the films they played in. He loves to eat, which can often be seen in many episodes of the series. He is afraid of flying on airplanes, so he prefers to travel by car.
Dean values ​​the safety of his family above all else, and even killed a man possessed by a demon to save Sam's life. From an early age, Dean was used to playing the role of an older brother, looking after and protecting Sam, and is willing to do anything for his younger brother, even make a deal with the forces of evil. Dean is the only one allowed to call his brother "Sammy".

Dean has green eyes, short dark blond hair and barely noticeable freckles. He is strongly built, is 185 cm tall - shorter than his brother Sam (194 cm) and his father. He often wears T-shirts and shirts in several layers. For a long time, he wore his father's old leather jacket. Sometimes he wears suits - when he introduces himself as a secret service agent. He wore an amulet around his neck, he also has a silver ring on the ring finger of his right hand and a watch. After his first meeting with Castiel, he had a burn scar in the shape of a palm on his left shoulder. After an incident when Sam was possessed by a demon, he got a pentagram tattoo on his chest to protect himself from demonic possession.

Dean drives a black 1967 Chevrolet Impala, which was inherited from his father. The car has Sedgwick County, Kansas license plates (KAZ 2Y5). Beginning in "What Is and What Will Never Be", the car has Ohio license plates CNK 80Q3, as the brothers are on the run from the FBI.
The car, which Dean calls "Baby," plays a significant role in the series. It was first mentioned in the commercial for the show's pilot, when John Winchester and his sons watched their house burn in the backseat. The car is Dean's most prized possession, and he guards it with almost as much dedication as he does his family. When Sam suggests selling the car to raise some money for the supernatural auction, Dean responds:
Just mention it and I'll kill you, your children and grandchildren!
The Winchesters keep all of their weapons in the trunk of the car, and a demon trap is drawn on the inside of the lid. The car is slightly damaged at the end of the first episode, and is almost completely destroyed in an accident in the last episode of the first season. Dean manages to fix the car, and it appears fully restored in the episode "Bloodlust" accompanied by the AC/DC song "Back in Black". Dean's car continues to play a major role throughout the series.

Dean uses a chrome-plated M1911A1 pistol with a mother-of-pearl grip, which previously belonged to John. Dean has also fired a double-barreled shotgun and a sniper rifle on more than one occasion. He has a machete, which is widely used by hunters when hunting vampires, as well as an angel blade against angels. Having received the Mark of Cain, he became the owner of the First Blade, but after the mark was removed, the weapon became useless.
