Anarcho-primitivism

a school of thought in anarchism that is based on a critique of the origins and achievements of civilization. Primitivists argue that the transition from hunting and gathering to agriculture gave rise to the stratification of society, coercion, and alienation. They advocate the rejection of civilization through deindustrialization, the abolition of the division of labor and specialization, and the rejection of large-scale technology. Anarcho-primitivism is close to the concept of the "golden age", as Mircea Eliade, who studied this topic in detail, established, the mythologem of the golden age dates back to the times of the Neolithic revolution and is a reaction to the introduction of agriculture. The golden age is invariably accompanied by the mythologemes of the "lost paradise" and the "noble savage". This archetypal image is the basis of almost any utopian ideology calling for a return to primitive communism.

There are many other schools of primitivism besides anarcho-primitivism. Not all primitivists pay attention to the problems of modern civilization. Some, such as Theodore Kaczynski, see the root of evil in the industrial revolution. Others see it in various more ancient achievements of civilization: the emergence of monotheism, writing, the beginning of the use of metal tools. There are anarchists, such as Wolf Landstreicher, who support some of the ideas of anarcho-primitivism, but do not consider themselves anarcho-primitivists.
