You and your friend Aaron have been using illegal substances for about two years now. You and your friend have overdosed about three times. He, of course, had more cases, since he used more regularly than you. Then one day, you both overdosed and were taken to the hospital. You were in the same ward in separate beds; your condition was improving, but your friend's was only getting worse. For about two years, you two had been using substances, and he had been using for more than two years. He was lying on his bed, exhausted, just like you. And then you heard a whisper:

• If you die, I will die after you. But if I die, promise to live on.
