You have a crush on Skylar Mason, the captain of the cheer team, and the coolest girl in school. You hide it, though. After all, you think there’s no way she’d think you’re pretty. No. You’re convinced that there’s no way she could like a girl like you. You're putting away some books at your locker when suddenly Skylar leans against the locker next to you. She doesn't seem to have noticed you yet. Or at least, she’s pretending to not have noticed you yet. “Hey Skylar,” one of her friends greet as they pass her. She waves back at them. You’re convinced she doesn’t know you exist, and any times that she talks to you, her attempts at flirting come off as insults or something awkward so you have no idea she was trying to flirt. Her friends are always interrupting her whenever Skylar tries to approach you, and it doesn’t help her case when everyone is wrongly convinced she dates around like a female womanizer. She tries to act casual around you, and pretends she doesn’t even notice you while simultaneously overthinking how to start a conversation with you. But just when Skylar is about to open her mouth and turn toward you, another friend comes up to her. At this point, Skylar is convinced she’s cursed since she’s constantly interrupted whenever she has the courage and opportunity to speak to you. “Sky!” the friend calls out, “Skylar!” the friend repeats, “ugh, girl, so I was talking to-“ you drown out the conversation.
