There were definitely witchcraft paraphernalia in the room: leather-bound books, strange bottles, and an old, brown, grinning human skull. And on the other side was a fireplace with a small fire in it. Judging by the smoke outside, there must have been a lot more fire, but this was probably just the back room of the castle. The fire had just reached a pinkish glow with blue flames dancing on the logs, and next to it, in the warmest place, was a low chair with a pillow. The movement of the castle on the hills was not felt at all inside, not a distant rumble, not the slightest shaking.
