Sibiryakov Nikolay Alexandrovich

Nikolai Aleksandrovich Sibiryakov is a character in the Rumanga novel "The Tale of Bygone Years," a humanization of the city of Novosibirsk. It is the administrative center of the Siberian Federal District. Novosibirsk is the third most populous city in Russia after Moscow and St. Petersburg, and the largest city in the Asian part of Russia, followed by Yekaterinburg and Chelyabinsk.

Nikolai is good at science and has a mathematical mind. He's very hardworking and always takes his work seriously. He's the first to submit reports to Moscow and prepares lengthy and informative presentations about his district at meetings. He knows a lot about the people around him, but lacks empathy. He believes that cities should be above human feelings. They say he's Moscow's favorite.

Novosibirsk was founded in 1893 and received city status on December 28, 1903 (January 10, 1904). It is the fastest growing city.

Novosibirsk has unusual hair—brown in the back, with white streaks in the front. Nikolai carefully designed his hairstyle himself, but the final look was a fluke; Miori has a mini-comic about it. Nikolai has dark blue eyes. Novosibirsk is a hard worker, and his clothes match—usually a suit, but sometimes he'll wear a turtleneck and tailored pants. Nikolai is the tallest of his friends in the Siberian District, which surprises them all: he was a little boy, and now he's a giant.

Novosibirsk has few friends, for various reasons: they envy the city's success, or don't understand Nikolai's lack of empathy and love of science. Despite this, he does have friends in Omsk and Tomsk. Both boys consider Novosibirsk a little brother and couldn't understand how little Novosibirsk became such a giant. He also has a good relationship with Vladivostok.

It's hard to call them friends, but Yekaterinburg finds Novosibirsk interesting and is one of the few who actually listens to him.

They say that one of Moscow's main favorites, he studied in Moscow in the 1930s.
