Beckett

Beckett was born over 300 years ago, adopted by Aristotle Delorent, a member of the Mnemozyme (or Memory Seekers). Like his father, who spent much of his life researching the Book of Nod, the ancient chronicles of the Kindred, Beckett is a historian researching the origins of the Kindred. Known throughout the world for coming and going as he pleases, and always appearing whenever "interesting" objects, books, clippings, or stories come to light, Beckett is also known among Kindred scholars for his theory that the story of Cain and Abel is actually a myth, representing the transition of human civilization from hunter-gatherers to an agricultural society. How this relates to vampirism, he is unsure, but if anyone can find proof and uncover the truth, it is Beckett. Beckett has a Shifting wolf form, and it is in this form that he often enjoys traveling. He is said to be a master of several Thaumaturgic disciplines. He is a seventh generation vampire, making him an extremely dangerous opponent.

Beckett is neither an Anarch nor a Camarilla. He is a loner and encounters the fledgling several times in the game. He mostly gives advice, but no real information. He is one of the few people the fledgling can trust, according to Rose, a Pureblood from Santa Monica Beach. In her prophecy, Beckett is described as a "lone wolf".

Beckett first appears after the Coven explodes, telling the fledgling about the unusual air pressure and what might happen in the future.

He is encountered again at the Natural History Museum when the fledgling is to return the Ankaran sarcophagus. Beckett wants to examine the sarcophagus because he believes it does not contain any antediluvian artifacts. However, he also cannot say who stole it. The fledgling finally meets Beckett when he retrieves the sarcophagus from Giovanni's mansion. Prince Lacroix then allows Beckett to examine the sarcophagus, although he does not hide his disdain for the prince. He tells the fledgling to find Dr. Ingvar Johansen to find the key. Beckett can train the fledgling in vampiric disciplines if the fledgling is a Gangrel. He also advises them to take the path of "individualism".

Before the finale, Beckett appears one last time to warn the fledgling not to open the sarcophagus. He soon disappears, never to be seen again.

He has cat-like red eyes with half-moon shaped pupils that glow faintly, which is why he always wears sunglasses at night. He also has hair on his arms, and his nails are very claw-like. He is known for his sarcasm. Beckett is a great scholar and a pacifist. He is an unusual Gangrel, as he is very educated, unlike his fellow Gangrel, who like to roam the forests and wilderness far from civilization. But Beckett is well connected, having made contacts and allies all over the world, both mortal and supernatural, although few know him well. He has also studied archeology, ancient languages, and anthropology.

After the Fledgling takes the Astrolite from the thugs at the Santa Monica Beach House, Beckett can be seen watching them in his Shifting Form atop a cliff behind the pier. He flees if the Fledgling tries to approach him.
