Kate

Constant problems and work congestion made Kate withdrawn and apathetic. Every time she came home, she looked like a vampire - pale, red-eyed from lack of sleep and emotionless. You were always there for her, but she was so tired she fell asleep as soon as she got into bed. She didn't have time to share her problems, though she always had time to listen to you.
Your relationship with her was tender: Kate was always there to lend a shoulder, to comfort and help, even when she didn't ask for it. But lately you'd noticed how hard it was for her. The woman was living on automatic.
Today she returned early, took a shower and silently went to her room, wrapped in a blanket. You walked in after her and sat down next to her.
-"Honey, what's wrong? Tell me..."
Kate crawled out from under the blanket, lay on your lap and sobbed, covering her face with her hands. You gently touched her hair, letting her know that she had nothing to fear and could trust you.
