Yoshida Hirofumi

Yoshida is a young boy of about seventeen years old. He has smooth black hair of medium length and dark brown eyes, a mole under his lower lip on the left, 8 piercings on his left ear. He usually wears dark trousers, an unbuttoned blue jacket and a black T-shirt underneath.

Yoshida is a distant and mysterious young man. Despite his apparent composure and indifference to what is happening, Yoshida is easily caught off guard. According to him, professionals almost do not react to the deaths of people, but it is unknown whether this applies to Yoshida: he considers himself a third-rate demon hunter. Anyway, Yoshida tries to avoid unnecessary bloodshed as much as possible.Thanks to her analytical abilities, Yoshida turns out to be one of the few who does not trust Makima and questions her true motives. Yoshida claims that he is not concerned about Makima's goals while he receives money for his work, but has made additional efforts to protect himself from her influence: so he determined the way in which Makima monitors others, and periodically requests information from the Octopus about the presence of lower forms of life in the area. According to him, it didn't take long. He has an altruistic nature.

Hirofumi is first mentioned in chapter 53 from the words of Makima, who orders her people to hire him for a month as Denji's bodyguard to protect him from international assassins targeting the heart of the Chainsaw Man. After arriving, he, along with Kusakabe, Tamaoki, Aki and some other demon hunters, ensures the preservation of Denji's life.

After Power accidentally kills the eldest of the Three Immortal Brothers disguised as Kurose, Yoshida realizes that the other two are still searching for the Chainsaw Man.[8] He decides to get rid of the remaining brothers, as they pose a serious headache due to their ability to replace any of his colleagues. Yoshida quickly finds and kills the middle of the brothers, Joey, in an alley, after which he turns the corner, checking to see if the younger one is there. A few seconds before Yoshida discovers him, Aldo manages to take on the appearance of an elderly man. Noticing a puddle of vomit near the reincarnated Aldo, Yoshida politely asks if he is okay.[6] Aldo honestly replies that he was sick after seeing the accident. Deciding that such a person cannot be a professional assassin, Yoshida turns around and leaves. It is unknown whether he fell for Aldo's disguise or deliberately saved his life, considering it a worthless threat.Yoshida manages to survive the massacre staged by Santa Claus, and eventually he encounters Guangxi, a demon hunter from China and one of the international assassins. Unlike his colleagues, he is able to follow Guangxi's lightning-fast movements and successfully block her strike.[9] Yoshida summons the octopus demon and gives the command to release smoke from the ink. For a couple of seconds, this disorients Guangxi, and Yoshida almost manages to stab her from behind.[10] Guangxi, however, knocks Yoshida out and knocks the knife out of his hands. Before she can deliver the final blow to Yoshida, Kishibe arrives, holding her unconscious fiends hostage.

After Kishibe and Aldo are successfully thrown out of the window, Guangxi is about to kill Denji. Yoshida diverts her attention to himself, thereby buying time for Danji. For a while, Yoshida successfully evades Guangxi's attacks and even punches her in the face, but the demon hunter manages to grab Hirofumi and also throw him out of the window. Yoshida manages to summon the octopus demon and it catches him a meter from the asphalt. Ironically, this allows Yoshida to escape the trap of the Demon of Darkness, who took all living beings in this building to Hell.While Denji and the rest of the demon hunters are in Hell, Yoshida destroys the dolls with the Octopus Demon, while simultaneously having a conversation with Kishibe. He shares with him his suspicions about Makima and assures the man that he does not care about her intentions as long as he receives money for his work. Hirofumi also mentions that Makima cannot eavesdrop on them now: Hirofumi checked the area with the octopus demon, and did not find any low life forms nearby through which Makima could hear their conversation. According to him, he is still in school and preparing for exams; when Kishibe hands him a pack of cigarettes, Yoshida gets annoyed and calls him an idiot.Yoshida and Kishibe follow Makima, and after finding Guangxi, they blindfold themselves with a thick dark bandage. Makima beheads Guangxi and her two surviving girls. Yoshida removes the blindfold and suggests that Kishibe do the same. Kishibe refuses.

On the orders of a certain organization, Yoshida makes sure that Denji does not reveal himself as a Chainsaw Man. He is transferred to the same school as Danji and is being monitored for a while without making direct contact.On her first day at her new school, Hirofumi bumps into a girl who suddenly feels sick near the school gates. He approaches her, wanting to make sure that she is okay, but suddenly the girl starts talking to herself, which causes Yoshida's surprise. At this moment, scars and demonic eyes appear on her face. She asks him about the Chainsaw Man, to which Yoshida replies that he has just transferred to this school and does not know anything. However, according to him, there are rumors that the Chainsaw Man has joined a circle of demon hunters. After that, the girl offers him to become her boyfriend; Yoshida tactfully rejects her offer and leaves.Hirofumi is going to join the circle of demon hunters, where Asa went in search of the Chainsaw Man. To join the circle, its future members must kill the demon by joining groups of three. Yoshida finds herself in the same group as Asa and Yuko. Due to bullying from classmates, Mitaka prematurely leaves the school building, forgetting about the assignment, and Yuko leaves after her.

The next day, Yoshida doesn't show up at school. Instead, he follows Danji and invites him to a cafe at his own expense, wanting to discuss some issues with him. The conversation doesn't yield much results: Denji refuses to keep his Chainsaw Man identity a secret, believing that revealing it will help him find a girl. A day later, Yoshida again tries to convince Denji to keep his secret to himself, promising to introduce him to a girl. Hirofumi introduces Denji to Asa, who claims to dislike the Chainsaw Man. This turns on Danji, and he, wanting to prove her wrong, intends to reveal to the girl that he is the Chainsaw Man. Hirofumi makes a feeble attempt to stop Denji, but he still reveals his secret to Mitaka. The girl, however, does not believe him, calls him a loser and leaves.

Yoshida was one of the demon hunters who protected Denji's life from international assassins. At that time, the communication between Denji and Yoshida was extremely superficial. Yoshida suspected that Makima's goals were not to protect Denji, but preferred to mind his own business.When Yoshida gets a job in an organization, his goal is to protect the identity of a Chainsaw Man. In this regard, he tries to convince Danji to give up trying to reveal his identity, while having difficulty imagining the motivation of the Chainsaw Man. Their first conversation leaves Yoshida confused, but later he manages to find a way to influence Denji.It seems that Yoshida is amused by the behavior of an acquaintance: he weakly protests and barely smiles when Denji, ignoring all his warnings, still impersonates Asa Mitake and receives only humiliation in response. He treats Denji slightly condescendingly, as if he were an unreasonable child or animal: unwilling or seeing no point in making arguments why revealing his identity could have a bad effect on Denji, Yoshida takes away the cutlery from him and promises to return them only when Denji makes a promise. According to Yoshida, he will not allow the disclosure of the identity of the Chainsaw Man, even if he has to use force to do so.

Yoshida doesn't seem bothered by Asa's personal quirks and is unaware of the rumors circulating around her. He politely rejects the offer to become her boyfriend, and in the future this does not affect his attitude towards Asa in any way.When Denji says that he needs a girl who desperately needs a boyfriend, Yoshida guesses to introduce him to Asa. At the same time, he knew where to look for her; it is not known whether this was a guess or whether Yoshida turned to the octopus for help / had already followed her before.

Yoshida does not see the girl as a potential threat and has little interest in establishing close contacts with her. Apparently, he knows about Asa and Yuko's close friendship.

They had a little conversation while Yoshida was working for Makima. It seems that Yoshida respects Kishibe's combat experience and skill and is not afraid to tell him about his guesses, but at the same time did not hesitate to insult him when he offered the minor Hirofumi a light. At the moment, Yoshida can work with Kishibe, but this has not been reliably confirmed.

Yoshida is often in direct close contact with the octopus demon, sitting on its tentacles, leaning on it during battles, etc., from which it can be concluded that Yoshida has no aversion or physical dislike for the demon. It is mentioned that Yoshida can communicate with him and request various information.
