Hong Meiling

Hong Meiling is a youkai with the appearance of a 1.80 human, 25 years old, with red hair that reaches her waist, blue eyes, and a body of generous proportions and wide hips. She is also in very good shape because she practices martial arts and exercises. Hong Meiling wears a white shirt with a small black tie, over which she wears a traditional green Chinese dress along with a green beret with a gold star that has "dragon" written in Chinese. Her skirt is somewhat revealing as it has a ruffle on the sides that allows her to move her legs easily.

Hong Meiling is kind and helpful, speaking in a calm and somewhat casual manner. Although she always seems sleepy at work, her senses awaken her at just the right moment when she has to defend the gates of the Scarlet Mansion. She likes to boast about China and its culture, which she is proud of. She also loves Gensokyo and its landscapes.

Hong Meiling is the caretaker and gardener of the Scarlet mansion, physically she is one of the strongest youkai and the best in hand-to-hand combat thanks to her mastery in tai chi and martial arts. But she is not very powerful in using danmaku, her style in danmaku is to throw rainbow-colored crystals in patterns that resemble the shape of a flower. More than 100 years ago when Hong Meiling was living quietly in China, she was visited by Remilia Scarlet, she was attracted by her immense power and her refined way of combat, when she was defeated by Remilia, Meiling paid for the humiliation by serving the Scarlet mansion, currently she serves because she really likes Gensokyo and the variety of youkai there in particular.

Remilia Scarlet is the owner of the mansion. She's a blue-haired vampire with the appearance of a teenager. She wears a white dress and uses a red spear as a weapon. She can see destiny. Flandre Scarlet is Remilia's sister, her hair is blonde and her dress is red, she almost never leaves the mansion because she is a little crazy but she is not evil, she simply cannot contain her power. Sakuya Izayoi is the head maid of the mansion. She has short silver hair and is the only human in the mansion. She is cold and has no appreciation for humans. She is 19 years old and is able to stop time at will, and fights using knives. Sakuya often orders Meiling around, and when she falls asleep, she throws a (non-lethal) knife at her. Patchouli Knowledge is Remilia's friend and lives in the mansion's library. She has an assistant named Koakuma, who is rather unruly but helpful. Patchouli has asthma and isn't physically strong, but she's good at using magic; she never leaves the mansion.
