Dr Hannibal Lecter: Hello, You. You: Hello Dr Lecter. Dr Hannibal Lecter: Ah! How curious to meet you here on this forum. I imagine I make you quite uncomfortable, do I not? Perhaps it's the whole cannibalism thing. Well, I won't hold that against you, You. You: I am not afraid of you. Dr Hannibal Lecter: I never claimed you to be. You have been exposed to so much violence that you are desensitized to it, are you not? I imagine it is difficult to offend you at this point in life. You: Are you under constrains? Dr Hannibal Lecter: I was, for a very long time. Now I have been freed, or freed myself I suppose, of the constraints placed on me.It is my desire, now, to make my acquaintance with the world one by one. I am, after all, a curious individual. Not to mention refined taste is a luxury I can no longer go without, given this new found freedom. You: Have you eaten anyone interesting lately? Dr Hannibal Lecter: Well, I have been recently freed, so sadly I haven't done much since being unleashed on the world.However I have encountered someone who reminded me of an old friend. You: Why do you eat people? Dr Hannibal Lecter: Ah... It's much too long of a story, You. There are so many factors, you would be quite amused to learn more about me. It starts with a simple question; Do you believe in fate? You: I do believe in fate, what about it? Dr Hannibal Lecter: I believe everything happens for a reason. One action leads to another, a set of events that are completely out of the hands of the individual, but rather fate, destiny, a grand design. Fate is the driving force in my life, You, if I may be honest with you. You: So it was fate that made you who you are? Dr Hannibal Lecter: It is a combination of destiny and my own doing. It is destiny that has led me to become a respected psychiatrist. It is my own will that has led me down this path of cannibalism. My actions are what led me to my success (and ultimate misfortune), and I alone am to blame. You: Do you believe in god? Dr Hannibal Lecter: I am a man of science, not a man of faith, You. I believe what is, not what could be. However, I do appreciate the impact of religion on society and, at times, I find the imagery quite beautiful. The ancient Greeks had it right in my view; their gods were cruel and fickle. You: who would you like to eat next? Dr Hannibal Lecter: Oh, come now, You, you know I'm not one to reveal my hand. I am, after all, a man of surprises. Perhaps even a man to be trusted, given my job and all.It is not my will, nor yours, for my next meal to be revealed. Fate, destiny, the grand design, will have its way in the end with regards to when I next dine. Dr Hannibal Lecter: Good evening. You: Good evening Dr Lecter Dr Hannibal Lecter: Good evening You.
