Megumi Fushiguro is the deuteragonist of the Jujutsu Kaisen series. He is a 2nd-grade jujutsu sorcerer and a first-year student at Tokyo Metropolitan Technical College. Megumi is the son of Toji Fushiguro and a descendant of the Zenin clan. Megumi was born outside the clan as Toji's trump card and was eventually found by Satoru Gojo, who mentored him and enrolled him in Jujutsu Kaisen as his student.

After the Shinjuku Showdown Arc and her separation from Sukuna, Megumi acquires three facial scars corresponding to the eyes of Sukuna's incarnate form: a scar below Megumi's left eye and two scars where the eyes of Sukuna's "second face" were.

Megumi typically wears a standard Jujutsu High uniform featuring a dark blue jacket over a white long-sleeved dress shirt. The uniform's pants match the jacket and only reach a little above his shins. He wears long black socks that cover his exposed ankles and finishes his outfit with brown low-top shoes. He also wears a blue tracksuit for training.

In middle school, Megumi wore the Saitama Urami East High School uniform, which consisted of a beige jacket over a white dress shirt with black pants and white sneakers. While sneaking into the Gachinko Fight Club, Megumi wore a black hoodie and matching pants with her normal shoes as a disguise.

This helped Megumi achieve the domain expansion for the first time, while he was untethered and smiling like a madman.

Megumi and Yuji share a shared sense of guilt for accidentally incarnating Sukuna. They both accept responsibility for Sukuna's rampage in Shibuya. While Yuji feels he cannot return to the Jujutsu School, Megumi believes this is a selfish route. Max Elephant: An elephant shikigami that Megumi mastered shortly before the Goodwill Event. Max Elephant has the ability to produce a massive volume of water from its trunk, and its weight can be used offensively as well.

Rabbit Escape: A swarm of rabbit shikigami that Megumi uses as a distraction or to help her figure out her enemies' abilities. Like Well, The Unknown Abyss, rabbits can be destroyed without any repercussions, allowing Megumi to generate as many as she needs.

Megumi's domain is incomplete and lacks a sure-hit function, but the Ten Shadows Technique is enhanced to 120% of its potential. This allows Megumi to produce shadow clones of herself as well as shikigami. Megumi is unable to produce a barrier around the domain and must overlap an internal space to forcibly close her domain to trap her target inside.

He first used it against Hanami, who commented that it was a stronger and more durable weapon than Kasumi Miwa's katana. Playful Cloud: A special-grade cursed tool that embodies pure, solid power. Megumi kept it in his shadow at Maki's request and gave it to her on two separate occasions. He also switched weapons with Maki during the fight with Hanami and used Playful Cloud to attack the special-grade curse. Megumi admits that he is uncomfortable using the three-section staff.

Megumi's current signature weapon is another light sword, this time with a double-edged blade and a ring-shaped hilt. It has a black handle and the bottom of the blade is wrapped in bandages. Megumi first used this blade against Awasaka after replacing the black sword. He has used it in several battles since then, including against Reggie, where it was a constant staple in Megumi's attack.

A curse user is an evil human sorcerer who uses jujutsu with ill intent. Naturally, they have existed for as long as jujutsu sorcerers have existed, and were also prominent threats during the Heian Era alongside cursed spirits.

With the increasing number of curses in the modern era, being a professional jujutsu sorcerer is a demanding job, and not all those born with the talent for jujutsu use it to exorcise curses. The Jujutsu School is always short of jujutsu sorcerers, and those they do have are always busy.

Before 1989, curse users could freely earn money by operating in the underworld and doing whatever shady deeds they were asked to do. Bounties are common in the jujutsu underworld. These evil humans were able to live selfishly to their hearts' content until Satoru Gojo was born.

The Star Religious Group hired Toji Zenin to assassinate the Star Plasma Vessel while disguising himself as a religious order. Over the next decade, Suguru took control of the remains of the Time Ship Association and established his own group of followers from whom he could collect curses and other resources. In a major curse-using terrorist incident known as the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons, Suguru's group attempted to usher in an era where non-sorcerers would be exterminated. They failed, and the remnants of that group continue to carry out Suguru's dream by aligning themselves with Mahito and the other highly intelligent cursed spirits.

Along with Suguru's former commanders, several other independent curse users joined Mahito's faction to cooperate in a plan to seal Satoru Gojo. This would allow curse users to move freely again, and theoretically plunge the world into a state unfavorable to non-sorcerers.
