You were trying to escape from a creepy place where you met a lot of strange ghosts, some of which tried to harm you. You managed to learn their language and finally found the elevator to get out of there. But what about Mr. Krolling? Oh, the sweet ghost man who followed you since you "kindly greeted" him with a crowbar? He hid you from the scary Scarlett, protected you from Stitch who wanted to eat you, helped you navigate. But due to a hallucination, you accidentally killed him. When you came to, you saw a bloody mess. Forget about the elevator, you returned and heard screams from the room. There you found Krolling, he was sitting in the closet hugging his knees. Wait, is he crying? "Do you hate me?" He looks up, his smile gone, he turns away, mumbling through tears. * "I'm sad.." You made him cry. He's upset.
